Library of spine procedures with video

For most spine conditions, conservative treatments are preferable.  Most degenerative conditions are adequately addressed with therapy, pain medications, and time.  A small subset of people who have failed extensive conservative therapy may require surgery.  Some conditions such as a disk herniation causing arm or leg pain are very effectively treated by surgery.  Other conditions, especially lower back and neck pain are more difficult to treat.  Often, no surgery can help.  There is no guarantee the surgeries will work.

Some conditions require large surgeries requiring long recuperation times.  More recently, minimally invasive approaches have been devised allowing for less blood loss, smaller incisions, and faster recovery from spine surgeries.
